CBNNews.com -- RALEIGH, N.C. -- A high school teacher is being investigated for allowing a Christian group "to raise an awareness of the danger of Islam" by distributing literature inside the classroom, according to an Islamic activist group.

An Enloe High School ninth-grade history class was visited by a representative of the Kamil International Ministries Organization who spoke about Jesus and warned students about the dangers of following Islam, claimed the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The activist group complained that a handout titled "Do Not Marry a Muslim Man" was given to students during the visit.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper says that the visitation and distribution was reported by a Muslim student's father.

Disciplinary action for the teacher and an investigation into the matter were strongly urged by the Muslim council in a written statement to the Wake County schools Superintendent Del Burns.

District spokeswoman Kristin Flenniken stated that the aforementioned letter was not yet received by Burns. However, she noted that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken and made the assurance that the incident was being investigated.

The Kamil International Ministries Organization, based in Raleigh, declares on its Web site that it is a Christian group "dedicated to teaching the truth about Islam" with a mission "to raise an awareness of the danger of Islam."

It is not known whether the Islamic activists acknowledged the warnings given to the students as true.

Many might wonder how the Islamic council would respond when asked about school teachings in many Muslim nations that call for "infidels" and Westerners to be killed for not submitting to Islam.
